MD@Hand | Prescription Demo

  • The prescription demo demonstrates one of the core functions of MD@Hand: prescribing patient medications. Once logged in to the MD@Hand application, locate the "Search for Patient" tab (within the horizontally scrolling navigation located tabs at the top of the screen) to select the patient whom we wish to prescribe.
  • Search the patient database by last name by entering the first few letters of the patient's last name. Tap the search button to display the results in the window below.
  • Tap a patient to select. From here, you can view/edit patient profile information, schedule appointments, view/edit chart information, view patient history including lab and prescription history, and prescribe medications.
  • Tap the Rx button to begin prescribing.
  • To begin prescribing, you must first search for the drug name. Use the first few letters of the drug name, either generic or name-brand.
  • Tap the Search button to view search results.
  • A pop-up window will display search results. Select the drug name to continue.
  • A form will display requiring user input. Select the Route/Strength/Form, SIG, and Pharmacy from spinner menus, and use the keyboard to enter amounts for refill, quantity, and day supply values.
  • Available SIG responses are shown. SIG contains directions to the patient. Tap to make the selection.
  • Tap "Finish" to continue.
  • Search again to add additional drugs to the prescription. You can add as many as you need. To edit the previously added drugs, tap on the listed item.
  • Tap submit when you are done adding/editing the patient prescription. The script has been saved and can now be printed, faxed, or sent via internet.
